Connie Page

Baskets by Connie

Having grown up in North Carolina, Connie Page has always loved the long leaf pine tree and its beautiful pine needles. Upon moving to Columbia, SC, she learned the lost art of pine needle basketry, making pieces in the traditional coiled method. This coiled method is also used in the sweet grass baskets. Connie explains, "I have always loved using my hands to create things, and pine needle basketry offers me a very creative outlet."

She especially enjoys creating bowl forms, focusing on the curvilinear movement of the coils in her work. Connie has participated in several craft shows in the greater Columbia, SC area, and looks forward to sharing her work with others.

These baskets are made from long-leaf pine needles gathered in North and South Carolina. They are handcrafted using the coil method. Since these baskets are handmade, sizes may vary.
